See "ericmorones dot com" for free listening to his sax pieces. Eric currently is the lead alto payer for the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Brian Setzer (briansetzer dot com) was the lead singer of the famous Stray Cats (straycats dot com). a revival Rockabilly group from the 1980s. Eric also published the book "The Best of Paul Desmond". At the moment. hes touring with Brian Setzer.I bought this for my son. who plays tenor sax. I love old time rock n roll and boogie woogie. So. Im biased in what I buy for him. The first sax book I bought was from Randolph Boots. It was the song "Yakety Sax" that led me to Boots excellent Rock n Roll book. See my other reviews.What stood out in Erics book is that it gives you insight in each song.For example: "Jeffrey Smiths solo (Caribbean Queen) ends with a descending E minor pentatonic scale (using legato tonguing) before a final glissando rips from B up to another key E".All thats left for me to do. is to convince my son to read these tips instead of just playing the notes. The transcriptions are spot on and the play along track is great.I have been playing the saxophone for 25 years and this is one of the best books Ive ever purchased.I highly recommend it.
