Rylance and Barber try to destroy Shakespeare through the backdoorr. by using somebody elses method. It has been said that everything we know about Shakespeare can be put on the back of a postcard. But that is not true. We know as much about Shakespeare as we know about any other commoner of his time...even Bacon. Except maybe Jonson. who was the Donald Trump of his time.Yes. Shakespeare was the first son. but unless you know more about his family. father. mother. and siblings. you are not going to understand Shakespeare. And that is going to take more than 30 seconds...a lot more. The will. Yes Ann got the second best bed...that was their bed. the one the children were conceived on. Shakespeare probably though it had great sentimental value to Ann. and wanted to make sure she got it. Also. Ann got one third of his estate by law. and lived in the large New place for the rest of her life and wanted to be buried next to her husband. Richard Burbage. John Heming and Henry Condell were mentioned in the will. the first the lead actor in all of Shakespeares plays. the last two the persons who put together and collected all of Shakespeares plays into one volume....the First Folio in 1623. the same year as Anns death. Actually the Folio was available in Frankfurt. Germany in 1622. There was probably an inventory. which has disappeared. in which he may have left books and other personal belongins.Once again the authors raise doubts about who the "upstart crow" was. although most of the scholarly world think it applies to William Shakespeare for many reasons. How many people back then were both actors and playwrights? :Shake-Scene is an obvious parody of the name by a very sick Green. The publisher later apologized to Shakespeare for the rant in an article. Even if it isnt Shakespeare. it simply means he was not mentioned until 1594 as part of Lord Chamberlains Men.This book is a badly hidden attempt to dethrone Shakespeare and raise either Marlowe or Oxford to replace him. both of whom died much too early. Nice try.....----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Have I heard right!!!! Barber and Rylance providing a genuine biography of Willilam Shakespeare and giving him credit for the plays with his name on them? This is incredible since Barber thinks Marlowe wrote the plays....Kit Marlowe and terrific playwright who died in 1593. so could not have written the Canon...and Rylance. a douber. who appeared in "Anonymous" and who obviously thinks Oxford wrote the plays. yes that Oxford who died in 1604. before some of the greatest tragedies and the 3 romances and Henry VIII came out.Youd be better off watching the British serious that this book is parodying. Fifty. I think. experts provide expert opinion on various aspects of Shakespeares life. They dont have an ax to grind like these two buffoons.
