A Dozen a Day Preparatory Book

[ebooks] A Dozen a Day Preparatory Book by Edna Mae Burnam at Arts-Photography

Description

From presidents and patriots; to locals engaged in service both heartwarming and heartbreaking; Quincy has been a place where names endure. On Adams Street; a stately mansion evokes the nations second president and his storied kin; while the nearby Bernazzani Elementary School recalls a beloved educator who died after suffering a medical episode during a school committee meeting. In addition to two presidents and John Hancock; Quincy also birthed Dunkin Donuts and Howard Johnsons; Hollywood stars Ruth Gordon and Bill Dana; punk rock legends the Dropkick Murphys; and a host of prominent industrialists who made quarrying and shipbuilding Quincys national calling cards. Less renowned but equally ingrained are the citys local characters. Memories of Mike The Winger Zadrozny launching vinyl records like Frisbees around the city still elicit nostalgia. Generations who played Little League in the Koch Club recall Richard Kochs commitment to community. The homeless honor Fr. William McCarthy; who founded the shelter Father Bills Place and personified charity. These legendary namesindividuals both towering and humblemade Quincy a uniquely American city and kept it that way.

Heed The Call Of The Sirens...By 4-Legged DefenderA superlative sampling of the most sensual 60s and 70s sex kittens and irresistable carnivores available at the moment (anything comparable is out of print). Great size; text; photos and poster art. All the obvious sirens like Raquel Welch; Ann Margret; Carroll Baker; Angie Dickenson; Jane Fonda; Jill St. John; Sophia Loren; Janet Leigh; Sharon Tate; Ursula Andress; Brigitte Bardot; Claudia Cardinale; Anita Ekberg; Stella Stevens; Gina Lollobrigida; Elke Sommer; Mamie Van Doren; Senta Berger; etc. - all the puberty-inducing worldly women who made the decade enjoyable and unforgettable are showcased within. But wait; brethren; it gets better.Unlike most similiar books; this one takes additional consideration of the Eurobabes typically forgotten and neglected - the Giallo girls; the Continentals; the Hammer Film babes; and then delves into the Drive-in dream queens and Blaxploitation babes. Its a treasure chest of treasured chests; if you know what Im saying. Fan-friggin-tastic on all counts.Any admirer of the female form; important immoral and immortal cinema from these two glorious decades; gorgeous and glamorous gals the likes of which no longer exist are mandated by lascivious law to own this book. Gentlemen; start your engines...1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful color photos of Raquel Welch; Stella Stevens;Natalie Wood and Ann Margaret as well a those European Beauties such as Sophia Loren; Joan Collins; and Helen Mirren. The book highlights their stories as actresses as well as those classic Hollywood movie posters that were dramatically drawn.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great Book; Great PicturesBy DavidThis book is a nice balance of photos and text covering the history of "Sex Sirens" from the 50s; 60s and 70s. The book is tastfully done with a fun look at the past. You will also realize how much class the ladies of these eras had compared to the tackiness of today. Nice look into the past...
