1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very worthwhile readBy J. F. -LackeyIn this book on activism on Milwaukees south side; Geneen brings to light the important struggles of the 1960s and 1970s that led to equal rights for the Latino and African American populations in this urban area. Featured are the activism feats of Ernesto Chacon; Jesus Salas; Margaret Rozga; Tony Baez; Ness Flores; and the School Sisters of Saint Francis. Even current and former residents of the citys south side need to be reminded of the struggles that so many went through to even the playing field. It was also valuable information to understand the value of the organizations UMOS in community activism and Urban Anthropology in research in this area.
