The not-very-scary stories are a mixture of 1st and 2ndhand stories that never pack any kind of punch. The whole book has a very desultory; almost bored tone. But I wouldnt have rated it so low had not the first chapter been on that most over-used staple of mediocre ghost books; Blackbeard; who relationship to "Haunted Virginia Beach" is non-existent. The Witch story was even more ludicrous and written as if it were 100% TRUE.A few as-told-to original ghost tales do not a ghost book make. Another thing. I dont know what printing process was used for this book; but it literally stank. Sorry! I dont like rating a book so harshly but as a VA resident who has been to VA Beach; I was very disappointed in this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
