This book compiles the stories; stats; and facts of the worlds most amazing knits; from a handknit Ferrari on display at the British Auto Show (knitting the car took 12 miles of yarn) to the American flag knit with utility poles and cranesmdash;and everything in between (a plate of sushi; a handknit wedding; including the flowers and the cake; a cozy for a house). This will be a Guinness Book of World Records for knitters. Each entry features color photos; an explanation of how the object was made; and other interesting details; including how much yarn was used; how long it took to make; how many people contributed stitches; the project dimensions; and more.

An Introduction to Nineteenth-Century Art (for Kindle)By DyanaThis is a wonderful book. so much more comprehensive than the text book my professor recommended for the class. I decided to try a brand new textbook just out by Michelle Facos because the textbook used for this course by many universities is very expensive and I read reviews by students who were not happy with it because of its political point of view and extremely complicated writing. Facos book covers much more of Western art history by including northern European countries such as Sweden. There are many photographs of paintings and sculptures. It is written in an interesting and easy to read style. yet with all the citations and glossary. First of all. the Art History hard cover books are big and heavy. They are also extremely expensive. I wanted to save carrying such a heavy book and decided from then on I was going to look for any book on Kindle that I could substitute for any of my university courses. The material in all of the text books for the same level course will be basically the same. so you can usually substitute any textbook for another one. I saved money. space and carrying heavy loads. by going Kindle.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. One gets a grasp of the art of this time periodBy Dave SchanAs Im learning. the 19th century in art is quite a conglomeration of schools of thoughts and styles. It is also the time where more individuals had disposable income to buy art and more leisure time to view art in museums. The author includes sufficient photos of the art discussed. and discusses the artists and pieces in sufficient detail. that Ive gotten a much better sense of trends during that time period.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
