I wish Rolling Stone would recommend to music books besides their ownBy David MartinI wish Rolling Stone would recommend to music books besides their own; because this tome should be worthy for any rock roll aficionado to learn about 70s music in central Florida. "Music Everywhere" was a beautiful flashback to my college daze in Gainesville is a must when researching the music scene in Florida. The Jourard boys were major players observers in the bands of Gator Country. Jeff was the first I ever saw in Kubuki face makeup before Kiss when he played with RGF. Marty was a star with the Motels. I was present or producing the events between 1969 1972 in this book can testify to its authenticity. I went on to work the Florida concert circuit as a pseudo stage manager getting to see everybody but the Beatles. Marty is very kind to the Gainesville players especially Stephen Stills who at a Manassas show at the Tampa Jai Lai Fronton; badmouthed his Plant High School bandmaster. He must of stole his football jersey cause hes wearing it on his horse on his album. Marty Jourard procured all the info correctly; provided me a fantastic return to my days in Hogtown.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A great book ; written by a very talented writer.By MudcrutchMarty Jourard has written the best grass roots book available about the Southern bands. I felt like I was living in the moment as it happened. Marty did live in that moment and he takes you back there with him as well! It was such a great read; I read it twice. Hopefully Mr. Jourard will grace us with more of his very talented writing skills and memoirs of the great South! His style of writing really puts you in the moment!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. GREAT READ!By Kathy KelleyAfter living in Fl for more than forty years( off and on) I was drawn to a book about the music scene in a relatively small city located in rural Fl. I knew of Tom Petty ; Don Felder ; and Bernie Leadon but hadnt a clue as to the enormous amount of talent which found its way to the city. Fascinating information for any reader but for those of us who were a part of the 60s and 70s social and cultural revolution; Music Everywhere is a must read blast from the past. Music lovers; do not miss this one. You wont be sorry.
