Art; Anthropology and the Gift

[DOC] Art; Anthropology and the Gift by Roger Sansi at Arts-Photography

Description

Ralph A. Smith provides a theory of aesthetic education that addresses the need to revitalize the capacity for genuine judgment in society; reaffirm the ideal of excellence in culture; and reorder our thoughts about teaching the arts in schools. The book presents an image of the curriculum as itinerary; preparing the young to traverse the world of art with adroitness and sensitivity.

She had owned this book for years but a friend had recently had a stroke and she gave him her copy to give him encouragement by drawing. She loves this book and I found it to replace the copy she had given to her friend. She is extremely happy to have it once again (Mother is in her eighties).2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A good start.By KiteTheres no doubt that you get your moneys worth with this item. Many aspiring artists are willing to pay any price to get that head start; so it makes sense that you can get a good; basic; foundation established for less than 20 dollars. I personally felt I got my moneys worth in the first section of the book. It goes over some exercises that will definitely come in handy such as shading; and building form. You can pretty much do your own thing from there; and it has alot of how tos on other peoples work that made it in.However; it could go into a little more depth. The first things they have you draw (A chick and a dog) are thumbnail size; there arent any pointers/explanations about properly building a form with the shapes you make. You just have to play around until you can see for yourself; thats no big deal but dont be expecting a full package with this book. If you already have the basics down; dont bother with this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I love to drawBy Good Girl Gonna Go BadI love to draw.
