Interesting Stories and wonderful old photographsBy Carol DavidsonThis book is a very enjoyable way to learn about the natural history of Pinnacle Peak; Pinnacle Peak Park; and the neigboring community. I enjoyed the old photographs of Fort McDowell soldiers; prospectors; ranchers; and early settlers. There are some great stories. For example; when a young couple from the Midwest "struck it wet" and discovered a large aquifer near Pinnacle Peak; a discovery that allowed development of the area. Also; the story and photographs related to the discovery of a Hohokam archeological site within two miles of Pinnacle Peak. There are also some nice photographs of local cowboy eateries; Pinnacle Peak Patio and Greasewood Flat; and local plants and animals.
