I ordered this one for my son who has had a couple years of lessons; and book 2 for my other son who is more advanced. I wanted a book that would develop their chord playing and hymn playing skills; and these books are perfect. I enjoy playing the spiritual songs in this book. I am learning how to play the piano; at my Senior Center and the songs in the book is great; however I practice more with this book because the lessons I learn in class can be applied to the songs in this book. TowleIm not an accomplished piano player like my mom but I love to plink out a tune or two. I love this book because it gives instructions on how to play chords so I can now play several of my favorite hymns in the simple arrangements in this book. There are many hymns I cant play yet but I know if I keep at it; Ill be able to master more.
