Dont buy this if you want to be an assistant. it wont help you.By JoshuaIm currently a runner out here in LA and am in line to become the next assistant at the studio that I work at. This book provided NO information that was helpful to me. Here is the book summed up:1. "Dont become an engineer because you probably wont succeed." I know that some people need to be let down hard. but if youre buying this book you might want more information about how to succeed as a second engineer and less discouragement.2. "Work your butt off as a runner first and translate that into your work ethics as an assistant" which is what I am currently doing and didnt really need to buy a $20 book to figure it out.I really was hoping for some insight or stories about what happened when she was an assistant engineer. but to no avail. I mean it wasnt a hard read or anything but its definitely something you could live without.
