Fashion is both public and private; material and symbolic; always caught within the lived experience and providing an incredible tool to study culture and history. The Fabric of Cultures examines the impact of fashion as a manufacturing industry and as a culture industry that shapes the identities of nations and cities in a cross-cultural perspective; within a global framework. The collected essays investigate local and global economies; cultures and identities and the book offers for the first time; a wide spectrum of case studies which focus on a diversity of geographical spaces and places; from global capitals of fashion such as New York; to countries less known or identifiable for fashion such as contemporary Greece and soviet Russia. Highly illustrated and including essays from all over the world; The Fabric of Cultures provides a comprehensive survey of the latest interdisciplinary scholarship on fashion; identity and globalisation.

Great quality. holding together a collection of photographs of one of the most beautiful people to ever walk the Earth--Im just a little bias. This new book is selling at a great price. and is worth every penny. This is a photographic journal of Audrey during the 50s. which is her most prolific decade as an actress and model. Absolutely stunning and a necessary addition to any collectors book shelf. Very proud to have this in my collection.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A Must-Read For All Audrey Fans!By dvdnanaA beautifully written book with gorgeous photos! This was a gift for my daughter (who bears a striking resemblance to the iconic actress) to add to her collection of Audrey Hepburn memorabilia. Large hardcover book arrived in perfect condition. as it was vacuum-sealed in plastic for protection and nestled in plenty of pillow packs. Excellent book!!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful pictures!By Elizabeth ChappellBeautiful book! Love all the pictures! I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn!
