A bit of nostalgia; a lot of pufferyBy hgfactAlthough it contains many good and nostalgia-inducing photos of the area; the book was a disappointment. It has some interesting historical tid-bits but mainly consists of a kind of "oh my gosh; werent we wonderful" insular boosterism with little objective observations. Many of the photos of businesses are accompanied by captions that are little more than gushing ads. The style and quality of writing is more suitable for a neighborhood "boosters" newsletter.
