[audiobook] Babes in Toyland: 0 by Alfred Publishing Staff in Arts-Photography

Description

Edward Kleinhammer; author of The Art of Trombone Playing; joined the Civic Orchestra; the training orchestra for the Chicago Symphony; in 1940. After two years he was accepted by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; where he remained for his entire career until he retired in 1985. He has played under every Chicago Symphony Orchestra conductor; covering from Frederick Stock to Sir Georg Solti. In 1986 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the International Trombone Association. While Kleinhammer states that his book "is written for the student who has no teacher available or for the teacher seeking more fundamental knowledge of the field of trombone playing;" he emphasizes that it is also "for the trombonist (in any stage of proficiency) who is always a student."

I thought this could be a good teaching compendium in the classroomBy Eileen LadewskiThe text is disjunct. such that the flow of the storyline is confusing. It reads as though it is a rough translation into English. with awkward sentence structure. and sudden focus shifts between the excessive amount of characters. The cover illustration is pleasing. but misleading. I found all the other pictures to be odd. and definitely not pleasing for children. I thought this could be a good teaching compendium in the classroom. but couldnt even make it all the way through without disgust and disappointment. Went straight to Goodwill.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!By Gustav Mahler has mixed up all this Babes in Toyland publications and reviews. This review is directed toward the 140 page vocal score. Its basically a waste of money. Its a terrible revision of the musical. Aside from many numbers from the original score (freely available on IMSLP) being missing or substituted by numbers from who knows where. the new dialog (which is included) is a wretched distortion of the original. Also for some idiotic reason completely disastrous new lyrics have been substituted in many cases. The complete original score and script are available from two different online sources. Some numbers are missing even from this score. but its much better than this travesty.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. ITS TOO WORDYBy MelissaTHIS BOOK IS VERY WORDY. I HAD TO SORTA CHANGE UP THE WORDS TO MAKE THE STORY SHORTER FOR MY FIRST GRADERS.
