ROMEROThis book ldquo;Things That Go ndash; Boats Editionrdquo; belongs to a Childrenrsquo;s book series published by Speedy Publishing. We love Speedy Publishing Childrenrsquo;s book series as they usually come with excellent photos and basic references that are quite suitable for the underage; for those small family members at home; for those parents who love to teach their children at home and this type of books serve well for teaching purposes at school too. This book refers to the most common different types of boats. The boats were invented long before cars; wagons and carts. Basically; a boat is a watercraft of any size designed to float on water (lakes; rivers; seas; ponds; etc.).Beautiful photographs with several important facts about boats; shapes; sizes; even different methods of construction are shown on this book. Among those boat types you will learn about the Dugouts which were the oldest type of boat that archeologists have found. Boat category classification as unpowered; human-powered and motorboats are depicted on this book.Excellent publication from Speedy Publishing; good for teaching purposes at home and school.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Cute; basic ebook for kids...grab it while its offered for free and you cant go wrong!By ElizabethThe pictures in this book are pretty cool for kids. The format for this is a little different than most of the Baby Professor books in this series which usually have a picture with a paragraph and facts on one page. Then the next page is just a photo. This book has a picture and description of the picture on most of the pages so you get more the information than most of their books. Keep in mind though; this Baby Professor book is short like most of them. It would also be nice if these books went into more detail. There are about 200 books in this ebook series that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99cent;. You cant really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered and most of the books follow about the same format. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book.Overall; I do like theses books for their wonderful pictures. It would be nice if the books went into more detail but they are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. I sometimes watch a friends 3 year old daughter and she likes to look through the pictures on my phone. I plan on showing her these books to keep her entertained. I think she will love them.***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Striking pictures and informative historyBy Sam RYoung readers age 5 to 9 will especially love the striking pictures in this book. The text is mostly simple and easy to understand; but kids may have questions about terms like "reciprocating engines;" making this a good opportunity for a read-aloud moment with a parent. My son and I enjoyed reading this book together; and he especially liked learning about the history of the Wright brothers and seeing the pictures of the army jets. He frequently stopped to comment on the photographs and explain the inner workings of the airplanes pictured. However; he did have some questions about some of the terms that were unexplained within the text. Perhaps a glossary at the back would be a good edition to this educational book.I received this product for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
