Description

Seriously good detail!- Really great facts and really informative book!!- If your kid can stomach bugs then this book is awesome for them!!- Once again this book has some seriously good and high quality HDR photos!!Cons:- The book is extremely short; only about 5-6 bugs and about a 12 page book. The information was fantastic about each bug; but I was looking for a little more info- The pictures made me a little squeamish; especially the rhino beetle on the hand; that one made me a little freakedI highly recommend this book!!! This book has some seriously good high quality macro photos. I can see the individual hairs on the ants and spiders! Even though the book was a little short and could use some more info; it is still a great quick read for your children! The kids I read it to freaked out because of the detail of the bugs and how real they looked. I personally hate insects; but the book points out that they play a huge rule in the way the world works. I kind of wish I had this in book form and not e-book form. I would highly recommend this book to my friends and family!!I was asked to review this product by a third-party. This is a free e-book and I promise that this is my honest and non-biased review.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Fabulously creepy pictures!By Charity AndrewsI have really been enjoying these Baby Professor books. My son is 8 years old; but these are still wonderful to read. The pictures are so vivid and clear and its full of fascinating facts. Ill be honest. I was creeped out by the big bugs on each page. They made me shudder!!! My son was daring me to touch the page because they look so realistic. haha. The only thing I thought was a bit odd is at the beginning of the book; it says; "Bugs can often be seen as an annoyance to humans; but they play a huge part in our world." Unfortunately; it never touched on their "part in our world." I would have liked to see some of those facts. Still; I highly recommend!Thank you; AMZ Review; for this great book in exchange for my review. As always; this is my honest opinion. Heres to many more!!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Pictures made me squirm! But the students LOVED it!By S JacksonWhen rating childrenrsquo;s books I like to go by these guidelines. I currently teach a multiage classroom of 1st and 2nd graders with varying ability levels from non readers to students reading at or above a 5th grade level. The title says; Frogs of the World- but no where in the book does it mention where a certain frog lives in the world. That is misleading. But it does have some great facts about frogs. My rating: 5 STARS!What or if I would use this for: I would use this to teach the skill of context clues to find the meaning of words and phrases. In terms of a non-fiction book; It is lack luster in terms of text features- as there really arent any! It ends very quickly; with no conclusion; even though there was an introduction. The intro was pretty pointless to the book anyway. I believe if this was the PERFECT book- it would need diagrams; labels; captions; index; glossary; headings and so on.What my students thought: Many girls (and a few boys) screamed at some of the pictures. I squirmed a little; I will admit! So detailed! My students loved the photographs.Quality of photographs or illustrations: The photographs are stunning! I love how close up and detailed they are. When showing it on a Promethean Board- it really takes your breath away at just how amazing these creatures are!Depth of knowledge: This is fairly straight forward in terms of a fact book about bugs. As I was reading the book to the students; they were asking questions that could have easily been put in the book; had the author been more thoughtful.Text quality: I like the size and that it is in different positions on pages. Many of my students would be able to read this book by the end of the year- minus a few of the vocabulary words.I did get a discount for my honest review of this Its A Bugs World: Scary and Spooky Bugs Kindle Edition. I test all products before reviewing them. I am ALWAYS honest in the reviews I give. I will not give 5 stars unless I think it is accurate in the description and high quality.
