Hundreds of musical groups have appeared in at least one film from 1929 through 1970. This is a reference book devoted to these groups. Most entries include a brief description of the musical group; a list of the main singers or performers and; when available; a list of the songs performed in each film. One appendix lists popular British groups appearing in at least a single film; another lists groups that; while neither singers nor instrumentalists; made significant contributions to music in film (e.g.; dance duos; acrobats; skaters; synchronized swimmershellip;). Filmographies are included for each entry.

How to Get Congress to Build Your Stadium in Three Decades or LessBy Daniel EmberleyAbrams has given us a brilliant and concise look at the complexities of getting sports fields built in one American city. Focusing on baseball and football. he divides the book into case studies. Each chapter/study looks at what got built (Griffith Stadium. RFK. FedEx Field). what didnt (The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Playing Fields). and why. The book is especially useful as a primer on the conflicts of a city run not by its residents but by a federal government ambivalent about its own capital.
