"behind the scenes". It offers very well-rounded descriptions of the different types of jobs one can explore working backstage. Each type of job has its own section with compelete job descriptions. culled from a variety of working professionals. The descriptions include what one can expect in different working conditions and even what might be expected concerning pay scale. It is a very realistic view of a life in the theatre and does a particularly good job of painting the diverse conditions that exist within the American theatre landscape. It offers lots of additional sources for researching ones further interests. via publications. websites. etc. It also offers some very helpful advice about finding college and university programs. or if that is even advisable.
