A GREAT MUSICAL SPIN FOR ADVENT!By Barking LarkFor a look at the real advent of the Messiah. we are performing as a vocal trio some these psalm carols. and in yesterdays practice. the group broke into a spontaneous cheers and dancing at a particular lyric to the tune of Hark! The Harold Angels Sing! Its A GREAT SPIN! One girl took off on a solo that completely changed the madrigal style we were working on. and turned the psalm carol into contemporary country music. Another singer has downloaded karaoke instrumentals for some of the carols and when she got to Psalm 55 set to Silent Night. the pathos had us weeping. We also have a classical opera singer interpreting a couple numbers. and I just cannot wait to see what he does with them!
