C'era una volta...Rebecca Loose (Italian Edition)

[ebooks] C'era una volta...Rebecca Loose (Italian Edition) by Roberta Sacchi in Arts-Photography

Description

Remembering Mass Violence breaks new ground in oral history; new media; and performance studies by exploring what is at stake when we attempt to represent war; genocide; and other violations of human rights in a variety of creative works. A model of community-university collaboration; it includes contributions from scholars in a wide range of disciplines; survivors of mass violence; and performers and artists who have created works based on these events. This anthology is global in focus; with essays on Africa; Asia; Europe; Latin America; and North America. At its core is a productive tension between public and private memory; a dialogue between autobiography and biography; and between individual experience and societal transformation. Remembering Mass Violence will appeal to oral historians; digital practitioners and performance-based artists around the world; as well researchers and activists involved in human rights research; migration studies; and genocide studies.

It features some high quality; fantastic photos of notable temples and perhaps; not so well known attractions in Japan. I was blown away by these photos and even though; I spent three months in Japan (two in Niigata; one in Tokyo); it gave me a hankering to revisit again. The best thing about this book is that it enables a conversation starter for young children and adults alike. There are photos from the aptly named Golden Pavilion; which has the first two stories covered in actual gold. Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan; Another photo shows the cherry blossom tree; next to Mount Fuji. The Tokyo Imperial Palace where the Emperor resides. Todai-ji is one of the seven great temples of Japan famous for the Kamakura ; Buddha. I remember seeing a documentary about the snow monkeys which as far as I know only exist in Japan. The Tokyo Tower has a strong resemblance to the Eiffel Tower.I see this book as an educational tool for students and children. Hopefully; it will energize students to research these attractions and maybe one day go to Japan. This book was given to me at a discount for my unbiased and honest. If you find this review helpful; please click yes underneath. It would make my day. :)3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. All of the places mentioned have a short description included on this book.As this book has beautiful; full colored; high detailed; photographs/pictures you may want to share with your kids and/or students as they can serve as point for further discussions or a way to develop language skill by promoting the children to express themselves about what they see and understand by looking at the photograph or picture. This book is also handy for anyone traveling with children to Japan as they will enjoy much more all the sightseeing places one may be visit during the trip.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
