If youre not a fan; than Im not sure how much interest you would have in this book; but from my perspective it is simply amazing. Not just a coffee table picture book; but a good read with plenty of facts; stories; and anecdotes by each member of the band and those close to them that lived through these photos alongside them. Between this and Anthonys book "Scar Tissue"(which is a great read for even non-fans) you really get a unique perspective. This book is laid out beautifully and the pictures are clear and each of them tells a story; of intense passionate love of music; life; dedication; friendship; and much more. I cant praise this enough.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great book any fan would love...By ILLWILL173Been a RHCP since i was like 12 years old...my best friend as well..so i wanted to get him this book for christmas...as a fan myself i love the book..i think any fan should have and enjoy having this in their collection...the only reason i give it a 4 out 5 is because its a huge heavy book...its def not the kinda book u take to read on the train on something...its a coffee table book but even for that its still kinda big and heavy..but its kinda my fault because i did buy the hard cover..maybe the paperback would of of been a better choice for something more light weight but that still doesnt take away from the overall experience of the book. the pictures and the stories are awesome and funny..if you are a red hot chili peppers fan then get this book; you will not regret it...0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Buy the hardcover!By Brandon T. DeWittIm a Chilis lifer so I was hoping for something like this for a while. Basically a picture book with band commentary and stories. So much has been said about these bros over the years but its cool to get their own words; especially John; Flea; and Chad since theyre not as vocal as Anthony. I bought the Kindle/ipad ed. one day to kill time between flights but this was clearly designed for the hardcover. I recently got the hardcover for the coffee table and it seems like everyone who sits on my couch thumbs through it at least once.I also recommend Red Hot Chili Peppers: Me and My Friends by the Chilis photographer. Its better organized and has beautiful photography but it doesnt cover the early years with Hillel.
