Not being an expert on ornamentation; it makes sense and is simple to follow. The fingering is helpful and not overdone.Formatting-wise; I am not so happy. The printing looks dated and thick (although never confusing). The systems fill up the whole page; leaving less than half an inch margin except for the top. The 40 sheets (plus cover) are stapled (top; middle; bottom) rather than glued or sewn.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This collection has a good selection of familiar classical piano piecesBy AC75This collection has a good selection of familiar classical piano pieces. Another review talks about the old fashioned print font. I love that about this book. Nothing has changed about this book since I owned it as a teenager; except the paper quality. The paper is a little thinner and cheaper feeling; but Im not complaining. The old version of this book would never lay flat with its thick paper and this one is just fine.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. From MainlyPianoBy Kathy ParsonsI have been a piano teacher for the past 35 years; and this is one of my favorite collections of classical piano music. The pieces are in their original form with nice; roomy notation that is easy to read. Alfred Editions are reliable and very accurate. This collection has selections from the Baroque era through the late Romantic; with a very nice sampling of composers. The pieces are not too long and not too difficult. I very highly recommend this book!
