Planning a school or amateur Shakespeare production? The best way to experience the plays is to perform them; but getting started can be a challenge: The complete plays are too long and complex; while scene selections or simplified language are too limited."The 30-Minute Shakespeare" is a new series of abridgements that tell the “storyrdquo; of each play from start to finish while keeping the beauty of Shakespearersquo;s language intact. Specific stage directions and character suggestions give even inexperienced actors the tools to perform Shakespeare with confidence; understanding; and fun! This cutting of ROMEO AND JULIET is edited to four key scenes; starting with the lyrical prologue and the foreboding opening brawl; which is played out in slow motion to music. Also included are the timeless balcony scene; the harsh scolding of Juliet by her father; and the final moments at the tomb. The edition also includes an essay by editor Nick Newlin on how to produce a Shakespeare play with novice actors; and notes about the original production of this abridgement at the Folger Shakespeare Librarys annual Student Shakespeare Festival.

Mixed Media Girls with Suzi Blu. and I thought that was "REALLY" amazing. So after feeling re-energized about wanting to do some mixed media work. I thought I should order this book again to keep it in my craft library. but after it arrived. it was rather disappointing. Some of the work is very inspiring. but I thought Suzis book was much. much better in terms of the style of art. AND the fabulous instructions. This book. when I bought it at the time (about 5 years ago I think). was the very best I could find as an introduction to "collage" (and trust me. I looked a lot before I decided on this one) so if you are interested in collage and have never done it before. it does provide a really good introduction to the whole art genre of collage.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Not what I expectedBy CustomerThis book is more for the beginner artist or craftsperson. It really gives the basics. down to the types of materials you can use to create different techniques. There really werent any examples shown. which is something that I personally like in books like this. Im sure others would feel differently. but I didnt get much out of this one. And for the price? Youd be better off with something else.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Interesting ideasBy BearyredThis book just adds fun to mixed media art. The instructions are fun clear and easy to follow. The supply lists help to plan the project. However.the emphasis on using a copier is kind of impractical for those who do not have access to them. I would still recommend this book to anyone who just wants to "come out and play"."
