I had read other reviews that stated Gary didnt offer much insight into the band; songwriting; etc and totally glossed over the whole lawsuit situation. I completely disagree. He states multiple times that he felt the strain of being the sole songwriter in the band and felt the weight of it often. However; he also is honest enough to admit his insecurities about the other band members possibly bringing in their own songs and realizing that he wasnt all that special in the songwriting department. I found this to be a brutally honest and candid book by an artist who admits his faults and mistakes and takes responsibility for them. The history behind the band and the ups and downs of their friendships brought a lot of light as to why the world hadnt heard from them in a while. Gary Kemp is very honest in his writing and doesnt sugar coat anything for his fans. I loved reading about ALL the 80s bands that came out of Soho and the Blitz Club. Gary Kemps account of what happened to his band in "I Know This Much: From Soho to Spandau"; correlates well with their documentary "Soul Boys of the Western World". HonestBy sara treendI have followed Spandau over the years and have read Martin and Tonys books. It was finally good to read Garys story. I bacame a fan after True and found the whole New Romantic era a mystery and found it very interesting. Also I loved Garys own opinion of himself interesting from admitting to being a snob to telling about his parents sad tradgey. I cried honest tears. Recommended...you will enjoy....
