After viewing the wonderful geography of Arizona; Sedona; and the Grand Canyon it is fun to read about movies that were filmed in the area and feature many of the sites. Fun read.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Lights; Camera; Action... Its a Wrap!By CustomerAnother dimension of The West is brought to life in this delightful softcover book as author Lili DeBarbieri dishes up all manner of facts and figures about filming movies; documentaries and television in the state of Arizona. The authors love and appreciation for her subject is infectious as she takes the reader from one location to the next. And she has clearly sourced her information from the locals and film makers alike; the people in the know about filming in locations throughout Arizona and who are keen to share their memories; their knowledge about; and express their ongoing appreciation for; this amazing legacy. This `local angle enhances the books strong sense of place; rather than being another book of movie facts. While undoubtedly a state of immense natural beauty; Arizona also is rich with a culture of film-making stretching back well over one hundred years. While westerns form a strong part of that history; works made in Arizona span most genres. As well as being full of fascinating film and television history; details and anecdotes; the book contains lots of great images; too; including photos of famous movie stars and picturesque locations; from different collections including the authors. I am ever ready to devour a well written and researched; impeccably presented and handy reference book about film and television; and this book is no exception. In some respects the book is also a travel guide. Follow Arizonas location filming trail with this book as your guide and you would see and experience much of what the state has to offer; while lapping up and appreciating its unique and substantial screen legacy.Location Filming in Arizona is an excellent addition to the collectors library of movie and/or western books (including mine!). Or enjoy purely for the warm and fuzzy feeling that comes over you when you discover one of your favourite movies or TV series was filmed in beautiful Arizona; whose movie credentials were established long before Hollywood.0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
