A major International conference on this theme took place in January 2003. To coincide with this event; this book documents and expands upon the theme of drawing the process. Much debate and research is currently undertaken in this area and it is the intention of the book to galvanise this; while providing a vehicle for deep enquiry. The publication will firstly comprise a collection of refereed papers representing a breadth of activity and research around the issues of drawing within the broad context of art and design activity. The second dimension of the book will be an examination of the drawing processes of high profile practitioners. The publication will encompass the best contemporary investigation of a subject pivotal to art and design activity; and should be recognised as a fundamental text for students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

From the title; I hoped this was an historical and archeological look at changes in pueblo architecture at Orayvi (Oraibi) over the course of its use. I assumed it would cover things like changes in building materials; design; and pueblo orientation over the past 600 to 800 years.However; this book looks at one specific question - how did pueblo room sizes; numbers; and usage change from the 1880s to the 1940s? It covers that in great detail; but reads very much like a graduate thesis. That is; its very dry reading and repetitive.If you are an archaeologist studying puebloan sites; you probably already have the book. If youre an interested lay person (like me) its probably not going to satisfy you.
