It covers places that I had not heard of before. I would not classify this as a kidrsquo;s book. I guess this has a reading level suitable to give a third grader some challenges. I really like that on each page there is a picture and a description of the place pictured. Many of the places featured are parks that charge little or no money to visit. This book is 27 pages long. Warning this review contains spoilers. The first page of this book tells us where North America is located; and gives a glimpse of things to come. From here we dive into our tour. The first place we visit is Mount Assiniboine. The last sentence is repeated twice verbatim. Next we see the Wave a beautiful design eroded into Navajo Sandstone. Then we are back in Canada at lake Louise. Then somewhere we find Devils Tower. This feature is popular amongst rock climbers (like my sister Arlene) Now we head off to a spot somewhat underground; the Carlsbad Caverns located in the Guadalupe Mountains. Now we visit the Las Vegas Strip. After visiting Vegas we go to beautiful Central park in Manhattan; New York City. While we are still in New York City we visit Times Square. Now we visit a much less populated place Monument Valley. Next we visit a very popular tourist site Mount Rushmore. More than 2 million people visit it every year to see the faces carved into the mountain. Now we head south and visit Calakmul a city in Mexico built by the Mayans. While we are still in Mexico we visit Chichen Itza another Mayan archeological site. Now we head back north to visit Watkins Glenn State Park. Then it is off to Mauna Kea observatory on the Big Island in Hawaii. Mauna kea is the one place in Hawaii you can sometimes find snow. Now its off to Mammoth Hot springs located in Yellowstone National Park. Next on the list is Canadarsquo;s oldest National Park Banff. While in the Banff national park we stop by Johnston Creek to look at the waterfalls. There are a few more places that this book visits Avalanche Lake; Custer State Park; Antelope Canyon; Crowsnest Pass; Horseshoe Bend; and finally Canyonlands National Park. I think this book does a good job exploring many unique places in North America. If you found my review to be helpful please click yes. The books in the series are very cool. The pictures are amazing when I pulled it ...By ElizabethI got this book so I could get my kids possibly interested in finding more out about each place in the book. There is a paragraph about each attraction and hopefully it will interest them enough to dig a little deeper about some of the places. If you look at the "Look Inside" feature on ; you can see the type of vivd pictures and paragraphs associated with each. Most are natural attractions although; Times Square; Central Park and the Las Vegas strip at night also are featured. Mt. Rushmore and Mayan ruins are included as well. There are many of these books in the "Baby Professor" series offered as ebooks for either free or 99 cents (at least when at the time I wrote this review.) I think there is actually about 200 of them! Most of the books seem to have about 32 pages although this one has 50. Im hoping that I will be able to pull these books up on my iPad and read them with my kids (or better yet have them read them) at certain "down times" (waiting for the other one to finish sports practice; waiting in a doctors office; etc.) I also have a friend with a 3 year old daughter who I entertain sometimes during these games and practices. I think she will really enjoy looking through the books and all the pictures.I did enjoy this book but wouldve disappointed if I had paid the full price for the paperback book. Overall very cool ebook.I received this e-book for free in exchange for my honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. My favorite picture would have to be the one of Lake ...By AmandaI received Around The Globe ndash; Must see Places in North America: North America Travel Guide for kids (Childrenrsquo;s Explore the Worlds Books) Kindle Edition. Here is my review on the book: The illustrations in this book are specular. Very vibrant colors; and simply very inviting. My favorite picture would have to be the one of Lake Louise. Beautiful picture; my kidrsquo;s and I talked about how we wanted to jump into it and go swimming. It really is a beautiful picture. On the side of the image is some good information on the lake. The information describes the photo perfectly without losing anyones attention and it offers some great information about the picture. I think that this is a great educational tool that can be used for any age. The only complaint that I might have is that I wish the book was longer. I would have like to have seen some more pictures; and more some more information. Overall we really did enjoy this book and I would recommend it for anyone who is thinking about traveling with kids. It helps to get them excited about some of the things they may there on there journey. I was given this book at a discounted rate or for free in exchange for my honest review.
