This volume presents the proceedings of the second Athenian Potters and Painters conference; which was held at the American School of Classical Studies; Athens 2007. Together with the 1994 conference (Volume I; Oxbow 1997); these are the first of their kind - focusing purely on Athenian pottery and addressing key aspects of its study. The thirty-two papers contained here are the result not only of a large amount of new material but also the dynamic appearance of a younger generation of scholars dealing with the subject. Subject areas range from the study of the potters and painters themselves; to shape; subject matter; chronology; export; excavation pottery; context; and the influence of Athenian vases on pottery from other regions of the Mediterranean and vice versa. Three papers in Greek.

While my words support the featured words of history; the unique collection of historic documents offer an intriguing view into the World War II era. Well worth the read; in my humble opinion.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great Research; Clear VOice.By Likes to ReadI very much enjoyed reading the ebook version of this. It has very detailed discussion of the real events behind the scenes in world war two. Seeing the real documents used to start the Final Soution and the words of various leaders as they went through the war brought a new level to studyign history. That is; you saw how things happened; not just heard some one tell you what happened. Author is good at personalizing grteat events for the reader. I also appreciated the detailed Endnote reference list that had hot links to hundreds of sites where the documents adn events were enhanced. This woudl be a good book for college level 20th century history.
