Il CTAP; Centro Tecnoloacute;gico Avanzado de la Piedra di Macael; ha tra le sue finalitagrave; lrsquo;innovazione funzionale; formale e produttiva nei settori delle Pietre Naturali e delle Pietre Artificiali (Composite). Nel 2010 il CTAP ha avviato una linea di ricerca strategica incentrata nello sviluppo di nuovi processi e nuovi materiali per il settore; partendo dalla premessa di minimizzare lrsquo;impatto ambientale attraverso la riutilizzazione dei residui di estrazione e lavorazione. Per la realizzazione di questo programma; il CTAP si egrave; rivolto a Perry King e Santiago Miranda; titolari dellrsquo;omonimo studio KMD con sede a Milano. Partendo dallrsquo;osservazione delle modalitagrave; di estrazione alle successive fasi di elaborazione; KMD ha avviato in primo luogo unrsquo;analisi delle caratteristiche prestazionali; degli utilizzi funzionali e formali che lrsquo;architettura e lrsquo;industria fanno della pietra. Lrsquo;obiettivo egrave; ottenere materiali inediti per concezione; proprietagrave; tecniche ed estetiche e applicazioni possibili.
