[PDF] Dance Integration: 36 Dance Lesson Plans for Science and Mathematics by Karen Kaufmann; Jordan Dehline in Arts-Photography

Description

In this book Richard Ayoade - actor; writer; director; and amateur dentist - reflects on his cinematic legacy as only he can: in conversation with himself. Over ten brilliantly insightful and often erotic interviews; Ayoade examines himself fully and without mercy; leading a breathless investigation into this once-in-a-generation visionary. Only Ayoade can appreciate Ayoades unique methodology. Only Ayoade can recognise Ayoades talent. Only Ayoade can withstand Ayoades peculiar scent. Only Ayoade can truly get inside Ayoade. They have called their book Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odyssey. Take the journey; and your life will never be the same again. Ayoade on Ayoade captures the director in his own words: pompous; vain; angry and very; very funny.

We live in a time of streaming; iTunes; DVDS; Blu-rays; YouTube; Netflix and . Other than a few poorly pixellated videos on YouTube; where oh where does an audience find a collection of Kurt Kren shorts to watch? Well; if youre savvy enough; your search might lead you to small european publishing DVD boutique labels where something like Kurt Kren: Action Films (with only 10 vids on it) could be found for a whopping $36.00 USD. Most of the times; the listings will be out of print. So for myself and the million or so people that exist who have an interest in experimental films; Having a book on Kurt Krens structural films is a case of putting the cart before the horse. Who the hell is this book for when NOBODY has the ability to see a Kurt Kren film unless youre booking a time slot in a viewing room in a university library? Is this books sales going to rely on being part of the required reading for some film studies major class? Its a completely ridiculous waste. It would be far better for someone to take on the task of getting a collection of all of Kurt Krens films together for a mass market product - just like Criterion did with its Stan Brakhage and Jean Painleve collections as well as the easy to find collections of Maya Deran; James Broughton; Kenneth Anger and Norman McLaren. Having an easily accessible collection of Krens films to view is a far better way of exposing his legacy to a new generation of film lovers than an academic book based on films nobody has seen! I have seen products that have combined both DVDs and books - why this wasnt done here makes no sense to me. The amount of people who have both seen enough of Krens films; then in turn want to read a giant academic art book about him must be incredibly small!
