A bit repititious at timesBy _CustomerThe Haunted Alabama Battlefields (Haunted America) book by author Dale Angela can be a bit repetitious at times as some of the stories tended to repeat themselves a bit or portions of the same story seemed to be repeated later. What made the book truly worthwhile was the history shared about a particular battle or location. Along with the history was the ghost story that went along with the history. I found this an interesting way to learn more about the Civil War.Of note: I was pleased to read the story about Sweetwater Mansion located in Florence; Alabama as I am distantly related to the Pattons.Sweetwater Mansion was the home of Gov. Robert Patton who lost two sons during the Civil War. Both Union and Confederate armies used Sweetwater Mansion during the Civil War lending to the mansions history. In her book she tells the story of how Billy Patton haunts the mansion and what people have reported seeing. You will also read stories about the siege of Bridgeport or the Battle of Mobile Bay.Throughout the book you will see plenty of vintage-style black-and-white photos showing Civil War reenactors in their Civil War dress.Recommend with caveats given.MR
