Plays by one of Italys greatest dramatistsEduardo de Filippo was one of Italys leading popular dramatists; a fearless social critic; a supreme man of the theatre; and a humane and compassionate writer. The four plays in this volume present different facets of his prolific output; which focused on the lives of the Neapolitan people; their dubious cunning nourished by centuries of hunger; their fantasies and their love of life. The Local Authority; Grand Magic and Filumena Marturano are translated by Carlo Ardito; and Napoli Milionaria was translated by Peter Tinniswood for the Royal National Theatres production in 1991.

As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I received this product free for reviewing purposes; however my opinions are all my own.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Padded for page numbers and extremely vague.By Mary JuettYet again Baby Professor has a misleading title and provides minimal actual information. When I first opened the book I was happy to see that finally they had categories! This is an organizational piece I have been looking for in Baby Professor books and was happy to see them finally use it. This was as far has my happiness went with this book. Immediately there is inaccurate information; or at least misleading. The first category is Education. The first and only section of this category briefly mentions how students now read ebooks instead of text books. This is completely inaccurate. While some schools may incorporate tablets or laptops in their learning; textbooks are still in use. Yes; tablets have made the storage and transportation of many books compact and easy; but this book fails to mention this amazing detail about the technology of tablets in relation to reading and education. Instead they chose to say that tablets have replaced the textbook; which is not true at all.As I mentioned; there was only one point under the category of education. This trend continued through the entire book. There was only one page per category. It appeared to me Baby Professor was attempting to pad the number of pages by including unnecessary categories. It would have made more sense to include more than one point under each category since they choose to use them. With all of the categories they managed to double their page numbers while still only covering 7 very brief points. In each point they dont even discuss the different aspects of technology; it is vague and pointless. Under entertainment they only say "Before there were electronics; people found simple ways to entertain themselves. Now technology has provided us with even more creative ways to occupy our time." That entire thing didnt tell the reader anything about how technology has improved lives. Its vague and pointless to include. The style this book is written in gives the impression it is targeted at preschoolers or kindergarteners; however the information provided is targeted more at an older child or even adult focus. No matter who the intended audience is; the author failed to provide any actual information about how technology has improved lives. There is no evidence; no discussion; nothing. Just brief statements people are to accept as fact without anything supporting them.Overall I do not recommend this book. It doesnt provide any information; it uses category pages to pad the page count; and only provides seven vague statements relating to technology. It is not appropriate for kids because they wouldnt appreciate the information and it is not appropriate for adults because it doesnt provide any information.I received a digital copy of this book free in exchange for an honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. bright and vivid and depending on the age of the child some of the words can be challenging which is a good thing. Yoursquo;ll have your e-books without a problem. I got these books for my son and daughter to read. Well let me tell you this after I read some of them myself I picked up on a few things that I myself did not know. These books are very educational and informational. These books are very well illustrated. The pictures are clear; bright and vivid and depending on the age of the child some of the words can be challenging which is a good thing. It gives the child who is reading the book something to strive for. This type of book will keep any childrsquo;s attention with just the beautiful pictures alone. The large font size and well-spaced layout makes this an easier read for beginning readers. hope this review was helpful. I promised to give my honest opinion about this product in exchange for a discounted price. And I must say that I am satisfied so far and will be doing a follow up in a few more days to voice more of my findings.Comment Comment | Permalink
