One of the best books Ive ever read about photography; stunning photos and a great tool to make your own pictures !By Marie-Claude C.One of the best books Ive ever read about photography. Not only a coffee table type of book but a tool to understand in depth the photos displayed in its pages.Whatever your favorite sort of photo is; youll find a tutorial about it (macro; landscape; and so on).Youre not only going to get into the photographers mind and going to understand the process of creation behind each of those stunning pictures; but youll also realize you dont need an awful amount of gear to make a good picture; only a little skill and imagination. The book is thrilling indeed because those tutorials are so clear; so easy to understand and adapt to your own photos that after reading this book you feel invigorated and eager to try something by yourself !A great "mind opener" too. If you you are fond of taking landscape pictures; for example; youll soon feel like trying some abstract or why not have a go at editing ?As an amateur photographer; Ill say its a book that boosts you !Besides; its addictive ! A page turning book !Open it you wont leave it; and its even better than a thriller : the story never ends since youll create your own from what you got in that book !28 of 29 people found the following review helpful. Nice photos; but low quality printingBy RodI was very excited about this book; but the excitement lasted just a few pages. The book is made of a cheap paper like those ones we found in magazines. For these reason printing quality is also not good; especially for a photography book. Than one page came out of registration causing that blur effect on the photo and some text (looks like a 3D image). Than another page; and another one.... OMG; if it was a text book I would not mind at all; but a photography book with bad printing quality and pages out of registration has no value!4 stars for the photos; none for the book quality. What a shame!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Candy for the photographers imagination.By RichInitially I wasnt sure if I should order this book; but decided to take a chance in hopes of attaining an "idea and inspiration" source. I am happy to report that this book more than fulfilled that need.First of all; know that this isnt a nuts bolts technical book; nor is it a coffee table book. The book is rather unique in that it exhibits over a hundred beautifully reproduced full-page photos and then provides the motivations/insights/how-to comments of the creator on the opposing page. I found it thoroughly entertaining; informative and; yes; inspirational. Unlike a few early reviewers; my copy was well printed; indicating there may have been problems with the first printing.Organized into ten categories; like Abstract; Landscape; Nature; Street; etc.; I would slowly cover one category at a time; allowing myself time to contemplate upon each one. I found myself coming up with my own ideas; and wanting to explore some of the techniques described by the artists. The photographers vary in how much of their technique they describe; but I could usually fill in the blanks when needed. I initially found this a bit frustrating; but then I realized it challenged me to engage in the photographers process. It made me think. This is a different type of photography book than most. If you are searching for ideas and techniques to stimulate your imagination; you will likely be as satisfied as I am with Photo Inspiration: Secrets Behind Stunning Images.
