In 1942; a stretch of Illinois prairie that had served as a battleground and a railroad depot became the site of a major manufacturing plant; producing Douglas C-54 Skymasters for World War II. Less than twenty years later; that plot of land boasted the biggest and busiest airport in the world. Many of the millions who have since passed through it have likely only regarded it as a place between cities. But for people like Michael Branigan; who has spent years on its tarmac; they know that OHare is a city unto itself; with a fascinating history of gangsters and heroes; mayors; presidents and pilots.

Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Resource Covering Game AudioBy JoelIm a composer and VR developer currently working on a game using Unreal Engine 4. I bought this book to fill in details not found in either documentation or other sources. Although I will be using FMOD Studio for most of my audio needs; I learned so very much not only about UE4s way of handling sound effects and music; but also about the general principles at play in game audio irrespective of the game or audio engine utilized. The example games are fun and the authors use them very well in teaching each principle or practice. I didnt have time to work through the many hands-on exercises; but they look like a great reinforcement tool for what is being taught. The accompanying website has a very helpful list of many more books and links relating to game audio. In conclusion; I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in game audio in general; and if one is using UE4; I feel its practically required.
