Dance has proliferated in movies; television; Internet; and retail spaces while the spiritual power of dance has also been linked with mass consumption. Walter marries the cultural studies of dance and the religious aspects of dance in an exploration of consumption rituals; including rituals of being persuaded to buy products that include dance.

It is amazing to me how anyone can read this senseless moronic drivel and then pretend it is good.6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Candid; Confusing; and ConsciousBy DollscaresErics prose makes me think. It makes me "kill my idols" but also reincarnate them into human beings. I highly recommend this to any Hole fan; Nirvana fan; or anyone young person like myself who got stuck with boomer parents and tends to romanticize gen xs alt nation without looking at its context. Its so refreshing to get to hear Erics side of things without the media filter or glitz. Not living inside Erics head; some of the metaphors dont make sense to me but they clearly show a stream of consciousness.4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Tell a story... dont paint a picture with wordsBy M. T. WilsonIm curious about the lives of others. It doesnt have to be a Kurt Cobain; it could be the Cambodian immigrant working at the donut shop down the street. I want to know how other people put their lives together and - in some cases - take them apart. Erlandsons book is simply a sweet stew of his thoughts and feelings at the time and very specifically toward Kurt Cobain. Unfortunately; its indecipherable as any sort of information real or imagined. Wouldve been good to know in plain terms what Erlandsons life was like and how he saw the others around him; but Im guessing hell get around to that book at another time. At least; I hope so.
