Di polvere e di altre gioie (Italian Edition)

[audiobook] Di polvere e di altre gioie (Italian Edition) by Giuseppe Truini at Arts-Photography

Description

Named after the 40th governor of Louisiana; the Huey P. Long Bridge; just outside of New Orleans in Jefferson Parish; is the longest railroad bridge in the United States. For 15 years after it opened in 1935; it was the longest railroad bridge in the world. Initially conceived in 1892; the Huey P. was the first bridge to span the deep-draft navigation channel of the lower Mississippi River; opening the path for a southern transcontinental railroad. The highway and pedestrian portions of the bridge provided additional transport; which previously had only been available by ferry. New Orleans and its surrounding regions grew in population and economic importance as the publicly owned bridge connected the Port of New Orleans to the rest of the United States through six Class I railroads. The Huey P. continues to function in its original; now undersized; capacity. In April 2006; the state began a widening of the bridge to double its automobile lanes from 18 feet to 43 feet. In September 2012; the American Society of Civil Engineers dedicated the Huey P. Long Bridge as a Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

As a matter of fact; I wrote an article about fly fishing from a kayak over 20.years ago. Kayak fishing never promised to have much appeal until someone created an unsinkable; unfloodable; sit on top model. Those attributes were the seeds of the biggest revolution in fishing since the the barbed hook. This book bridges that gap and helps novice and experienced paddlers rig their own kayak for fishing. There is a lot of practical and valuable information in this book; and Cory pulls from his extensive exerience to explain why it is important. I would have preferred see more in depth information regarding fishing techniques; but the kayak experience and advice more than made up for that shortcoming. If you are thinking about buying a kayak to fish from; or if you have just purchased one; this is a must read.7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Yes...Its the second editionBy David D. SmithMy discovery of Cory "Ruthless" Routh and his book; Kayak Fishing - The Complete Guide was at my local public library (remember those?) It was the first edition and to my knowledge at the time; the only one in print. I checked it out and over the next three weeks; read it from cover to cover a couple of times; finding it very informative. A couple of additional weeks past and I decided I would like to own it; but had forgotten the name. I went onto ; found it; and other selections. I was excited when I saw this book as I thought it was a new offering from Cory. Ultimately; I ended up ordering what turned out to be the same book; but the second edition. As was the first edition; it is a wealth of very useful tips on kayaking; specifically for angling. It is based upon the reader already being an experienced angler; so there is very little basics; "How to" or any discussion for that matter on actual angling. There are just over 150 pages; many of which contain several pictures and illustrations to support the text.Im very glad I now own it; but would advise; if you already have the first edition; dont bother buying the second. The two are almost identical from page to page; to include script and pictures. There are a few additions; but in this consumers opinion; not enough to justify having both of them.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A great guide full of detailed information.By Paul T. OwenI have done a fair amount of canoeing but just starting out at kayaking. I have been doing research regarding kayak fishing and I think this book is excellent. Great information including advise about gear (kayaks; boating and fishing gear) different types of fishing and locations. Also discusses safety; tides; weather; etc. Author doesnt attempt to sell particular equipment; but mentions what he and friends use. This book has helped lead me to other information to further my research. A great guide full of detailed information.
