A mulher do pintor; Blanca Luz Brum; eacute; a modelo utilizada para o mural. Ao fim do projeto; Blanca Luz abandona Siqueiros e se envolve com Natalio Botana. Expulso da Argentina; Siqueiros volta para o Meacute;xico. Um ano depois Luz abandona Botana. Cinquenta anos depois; a quinta eacute; comprada para extrair o mural do poratilde;o abandonado e vendecirc;-lo no mercado internacional. Em virtude de questotilde;es judiciais; a obra eacute; mantida durante 15 anos em diversos contecirc;ineres no Porto de Buenos Aires. I found this souvenir to be perfect; with accurate paintings and explanations of most of the cultural items and occasions seen there. You might have seen her other sketchbooks on Japan.An Artists Journey to Bali is a travelogue sketchbook that captures the culture and life on the Indonesian island of Bali.The wonderful watercolour paintings highlight the interesting places and sights; such as the festivals; temples; performances; customs; food; people and the flora. All paintings come with description that are informative and fun to read. McCullochA few months ago I found myself contemplating visitng Bali which would propel me from my orderly and known life in the U.S. to a very foreign land and honestly out of my comfort zone. I had been offered an opportunity to come and stay with other American friends who recently had moved to Bali to open a small resort in northern Bali. I knew absolutely nothing about this small island in Indonesia. I started researching the library and on line for books which turned out to be the usual travel fact information book; which is fine of course but I was interested in something else; or a bit different. I wanted to know why I would want to visit this place; besides just visitng my firends. I wanted to read from an writer who could translate flavor; context; something that would entice me to want to go and see this beautiful culture myself and experience its art and its people. I found such a book in An Artists Journey to Bali; by Betty Reynolds.Everything about this book is inspiring from the amazingly detailed hand drawn illustrations to the text. It is a wonderful introduction to Bali or if you have been lucky enough to have visited Bali; a book you would want to have in your possession to refresh your memory or to share your story about your own travels with friends and family. It gave me the information I was seeking starting with a map of Bali and continuing on; all presented with her imaginative and descriptive writing and her obvious talented artistically and delightful illustrations. She shares about their culture; their ceremonies; even a part of how to pray. I particually enjoyed the part about what they and I would be eating and even how they prepare their food. The description of all the different fruits ignites your curiosity in a way that sparks and creates that excitement about exploring a new country. This little book contains so much interesting information that it takes more than one sitting to absorb it all and actually takes you on a journey through Bali exploring its rich history; art; music and mystery. Im not one to usually write a review about books but I felt compelled to share this gem with others as I feel this book is pretty special.I highly recommend this book even if you never get to physically visit this magical place of Bali but are curious about learning something new in a delightful way. In my opinion this book is a true keepsake! By the way; I made it to my destination and am writing this from Bali with my copy right beside me; as it is also a great reference book while here; planning what will be next on my agenda to discover and explore.Happy travels!
