Digital Media Worlds: The New Economy of Media

[DOC] Digital Media Worlds: The New Economy of Media by Giuditta De Prato; Jean Paul Simon at Arts-Photography

Description

The author of this enthralling book aims to present a well-illustrated and documented alternative history of the Western World through graphic accounts of looting and art theft from the time of Sargon; ruler of Syria in 721 BC; to the present day. Almost all the principal players included appear on the stage of World history and many of them are known as conquerors; confiscators (the old-fashioned word for looters) and ruthless administrators of the regions they created as a result of their conquests.Featured here are emperors; kings; queens; popes; adventurers; explorers and those whose energies and expertise supported the greed and acquisitive ambitions of their masters. The different motivation of the greatest looters in history is a recurrent theme which is examined throughout.

MooreJeri McGuire has given us another gem of a book; this one expanding on her earlier book about Clarkston to include all of Asotin County. She has a gift for choosing just the right photographs to show us what life was like in this little corner of Washington in the early days; and even in days still within the memory of living people! Anyone from the Lewiston-Clarkston area will love this book. So will anyone interested in Washington history.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. History Noted.By Rosalie BruceIf only my history classes had been so interesting. The authors choice of pictures truly brought life to the story. I believe this book; as well as the one on Clarkston; should be part of the teaching curriculum for the local schools.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
