Directing Animation

[PDF] Directing Animation by David B. Levy in Arts-Photography

Description

The remarkable Mary Nisbet was the Countess of Elgin in Romantic-era Scotland and the wife of the seventh Earl of Elgin. When Mary accompanied her husband to diplomatic duty in Turkey; she changed history. She helped bring the smallpox vaccine to the Middle East; struck a seemingly impossible deal with Napoleon; and arranged the removal of famous marbles from the Parthenon. But all of her accomplishments would be overshadowed; however; by her scandalous divorce. Drawing from Marys own letters; scholar Susan Nagel tells Marys enthralling; inspiring; and suspenseful story in vibrant detail.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good stuffBy SmithLevy has a knack for turning firsthand experience into a brisk and informative read. Like his previous books. this one covers practical aspects of working in the animation business. It lays out what is needed to be an effective director of indie shorts. commercials. TV. Web content. and features. stressing people skills over spreadsheets. Input from a variety of other directors keeps things interesting. This is real-world insight into the process and business of getting something made. Well worth a buy if youre in the field. even if youre a long way off from being a director yourself.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Same thing over and overBy KGSI bought this book hoping it would be a little more in-depth regarding the processes in an animation pipeline. but that wasnt the case. Levy has a humorous tone throughout. but didnt get into the nitty-gritty technicality of animation film or tv making. However he makes a point at building your confidence when managing a team of artists.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Four StarsBy Freddie D. ChambersAgain a good book helpful.
