Believe me; no civilised man ever regrets a pleasure...As London slides from one century into the next; a young man is cursed with the uncanny ability to remain both young and beautiful while descending into a life of heartless debauchery. With its glittering dialogue; provocative imagery and radical questioning of sexual and moral freedoms all brought sharply into focus by this brand-new adaptation; Oscar Wildersquo;s infamous parable has lost none of its power to provoke and disturb.Using Wildersquo;s original words; a company of sixteen actors and all of adaptor Neil Bartlettrsquo;s trademark theatricality; this new stage version of Wildersquo;s black-hearted parable was commissioned by and first produced at the Abbey Theatre; Irelandrsquo;s national theatre in the autumn season of 2012.

Showing the very dark side of addiction and depression hopefully will help others to get help. I am so thankful Dave made it out alive and is doing well. This book was so well written. I loved how it went between passages written by Dave. passages described by Neil and conversations that were transcribed. Loved the pictures also!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Thanks for sharingBy Syrene3 alternative names for this book1. I was bored. so I did drugs2. I did so much drugs. my dealer broke up with me3. People are ruining my lifeActually. as you approach the end. the book explains itself (spoiler)"This book is about a drug addict who has negative beliefs about life and buys a photo booth to prove and document those beliefs. But in the process he comes to learn that many of his beliefs are inaccurate and gets sober."And then. in the end. we throw in some love story. that we all know (ok. wikipedia says) doesnt really have a happy ending. So some of it loses meaning. The rest. however. paints a good picture of self-destructive activities. pretending to be wise while high. and trying to get people to sit around and listen to you.Not bad. really. A run of the mill rock story. I guess I was looking for more from Dave. No real surprises in this reading. Except for the fact he survived. Unless youre really bored. dont waste your time or money. And this is coming from someone who likes Dave Navarro!
