I already have. of course. "Collage Unleashed" that I love and which will remain among my favorite books for a very long time. I am sure. This time. it is not about collage and specifically making books. but more about Doodling as says the title. One more time. it is very well explained. the images are gorgeous and the work is well done.My only concern is that. according to me. it is rather hard to explain and make the detail of someones doodling. I mean. doodling is something we do instinctively. If we follow Tracis instructions. we are going to doodle as she does. we are going to follow her different steps. It is perfect for someone who has absolutely no idea about how he/she is supposed to doodle and really needs step by step explanations. But for someone who is already used to doodle by his/her own way. I am afraid some of these explanations could be confusing or redundant.However. it is still interesting to use some of Tracis techniques and to see what kind of products she uses.I think the best is to consider this book as a documentary about how Traci Bautista does doodle. and try to get inspired by her techniques. But then. I think doodling is something very personal. and each person must find his/her own way. It is almost as if we were reading a book about how to walk. For someone who had a brain stroke and who really needs a complete new education about how to walk. it can be very useful. But for most of people. who are used to walk. they will never be able to walk as Traci Bautista does. This is of course an image. a comparison. to explain my concern about this book.Beside that. I however still think it is very interesting to have this book. and I certainly dont regret to have bought it. because I am curious about Traci Bautistas work.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Rediscovering the danceBy Sheilah. BockettI learned one very important thing from Traci Bautistas book; how to rediscover confidence and sponaneity in my art making. And this. despite her art style being so different from mine. To put it in a nutshell. doodling is a neat way to redicover the joy we had as children in making art. We can get so hung up on technique that our work can become cautious and safe.I purchased "Doodles Unleashed" precisely because it *is* about doodles - surely one of the best ways to access creativity and to bring out those artistic visions that lurk in the back our minds. Anyone who dismisses the book because it is "not my style" or because it is "merely eye candy" has seriously missed the point. In Doodling Unleashed Traci Bautista inspires us to bring back the dance. After that. we can return to our own unique style. refreshed in mind and spirit. I like how she organized this book with the materials as the Creative Toolbox listed up front and a few step by step process with large pictures. I am a visual person and need pictures. but also like a simple description of the process. I especially likes her Circle Doodles exercise on pages 40 and 41. It is simple and direct. but also with a little complex random design. Using a few colors especially the complements of Green and Red to create this wonder painting. I like the red paint with the using the spool of thread with the circle and wagon spokes.
