This work provides a clear and simple guide to the subject; based on meticulous and beautiful drawings. Organized in three sections; it includes chapters on construction details; methods of working particular structural shapes; both basic and advanced geometry and setting-out. It also includes forms and tables omitted from later editions to be used as templates for costing and estimating work. These are as relevant today as they were in the 1920s. It includes a new introduction by Christopher Weeks.

Full of Warmth and Sparkle!By OrindaMy Charmed Life is one of those wonderful books that you can curl up with; laugh; cry; and just completely escape with. It made me think of my mother and grandmother and our shared experiences - although I have to admit; my jewelry isnt quite as nice. Being born around the same time as the author; it brought back wonderful memories - and the humor is right on the mark! I caught myself laughing out loud in more than a few spots. I loved the book so much that I bought a copy for a young friend just starting college. I hope the stories of love; warmth; sharing; as well as independence will serve as an inspiration to her; just as it did me.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Sparkling and ProlificBy TalismanCollectionBernsteins work is a must-read for people who love jewelry; generally speaking. Jewelry industry insiders look to her columns for insight into whats happening next; what is remarkable; and what looks beautiful in jewelry trends. "My Charmed Life" is a treat. It gives insight into her alignment of her profession; her memories and her mementos with a work that is relate-able and touching. This is a touching and lovely book by a writer with wonderful talent who; from the sound of this book; is sensitive; introspective and purposeful. Chermed Life is a beautiful memoir.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. In a funny touching way...By MicheleThis is a great book for men and women who like stories filled with feelings and funny anecdotes. This is a life trip through family values and a search for Mister Right. She touches on the universal topics of romance; family and loss with heart; wisdom and witt. Jewelry acts as the back-drop for what we can relate to. I loved her conversational style that made me feel as if I was part of the book while I was reading it.
