OrvettiOf these two; "The Father" -- an effective and jarring depiction of dementia from the perspective of an aging man -- is the better. Zeller stages the action so that the audience experiences the protagonists confusion and frustration; and at times; the reader or viewer is not quite sure what is real and what is imagined. "The Mother" deals with similar themes but not as effectively; it takes place both inside and outside the main characters mind; with scenes repeating and moving backward and forward in time in a way that is innovative but unfortunately rather confusing.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An amazing experience.By CustomerAn amazing experience... frighting and compelling at the same time. A lifetime stripped to the bone by the ravages of time. "The Father" reaches us all and begs for answers.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Otto MineraGreat play. Great author. Old themes treated refreshingly. Under a new light.
