I went to Norms store last year and he actually shows me some the photos that appear in the back and I almost bought that 1960 gold hardware Jazzmaster (coulda shoulda; woulda).Norm and his staff were gracious in my visit and did not have any attitude about being a "guitar to the stars" shop.In fact; Norm had just gotten some collection of super rare arch tops (really one of a kind stuff) and he enthusiastically showed it off and let me play several of them. These things probably did end up in the hands of music royalty but I had the opportunity to play them.I have a decent guitar collection and everything Norm says about the disease is true. The old guitars just sound better.Im not rock royalty; just a music fan that loves rock; blues; Fender and Gibson. Im already looking forward to my next trip to the store and maybe I wont get cold feet on a big purchase next time.Hearing the old stories about how this was all done pre-internet was a hoot and all the celebrity stories are fun. Thanks for a great mini-escape Norm!3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Couldnt put it down !By TruckerGreat book.. As a lover of quality built guitars it was so interesting to see how Norm got started in the business. The man had amazing drive and determination and a great vision on what would be sought after and highly coveted decades later- original guitars in great condition... If youre a lover of guitars I highly recommend this book.. I look forward to visiting the store on my next trip to the west coast.. Thanks for documenting and preserving so many fine specimens Norm !!!!!4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.
