From Cutie Honey and Sailor Moon to Nausicaauml; of the Valley of the Wind; the worlds of Japanese anime and manga teem with prepubescent girls toting deadly weapons. Sometimes overtly sexual; always intensely cute; the beautiful fighting girl has been both hailed as a feminist icon and condemned as a symptom of the objectification of young women in Japanese society.

The photography is excellent and the quotations are quite appropriate and thought provoking. If you enjoy the Earth Art of Andy Goldsworthy then you will enjoy this book and Martin Hills work as well. The circular themes in Mr. Hills works remind us that we are all part of an ongoing cycle. I purchased the kindle edition and am glad I did. I can take it anywhere and refer back anytime I need a breather from the hectic pace of the city. For fans of Earth Art this book is a must buy!!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
