Photo history of Blacks in Hall CountyBy acckpPhotos help to tell the story of Blacks in Hall County; but look forward to more detailed history; especially of progress in integration since 1963. Enjoyed viewing the various buildings; especially the fraternal organizations; and library branch and Mrs. Rucker; who I worked with while head of the Hall County Library. One of my first tasks was with the approval of the library board was to integrate the library. My memory of the library branch was of a more spacious building.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great book.By M. YoungThis book reminded me of my hometown when I was a little girl. It also had a picture of a lady in town that kept all the neighborhood kids in line. Great book.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A must have for African Americans from GainesvilleBy Kevin J. LittlejohnThis is a wonderful book!!!!! I have been unable to put it down since I put my hands on it!!!! This book tells the story of Gainesville in such away that it can only be considered a credit to the ladies that assembled the book. It brings to life so many of the names that kids from my age group growing up in Gainesville knew only as names on buildings. Gainesville is a city that is rich with history and contributions from African Americans whose stories were never told until now; and this book is a treasure. A must have is the only way to describe this book!
