Description

Davey has seen something he cant forget. Anita has been forced to flee her home. These two have never met. Tonight their paths cross with devastating consequences. Thrilling; heartbreaking and darkly humorous by turns; Vincent River explores the classic Ridley themes of loss; sexual identity; the family as a destructive force; East London and the redemptive power of storytelling. Vincent River premiered at Hampstead Theatre on 6 September 2000. It received its West End premiere at the Trafalgar Studios on 30 October 2007.

Highly recommend.By Petunia P.Please note: This book can not be viewed on kindle paperwhite and must be viewed on another tablet or computerMy daughter is in kindergarten and has been studying penguins in school. I was very excited to add this book to her learning curriculum. I really cant say enough good things about this book. It is a good book; full of basic information on various species of penguins. When large words; such as "regurgitate" are used; they are followed up with appropriate definitions. (So; for anyone who just NEEDS to know; the baby chicks eat regurgitated food from their mothers.) The photographs that accompany this book are beautiful and appropriate. They present a variety of penguins in various situations that accompany the information well.Penguins covers information on penguin population; geography; diet; swimming speeds; parenting; coloration; hearing; specifics on largest and smallest species of penguins; mating; chicks; and colonies. There is a huge variety of topics in this very small book. The topics could easily be expanded on for a week of penguin learning. The only negative for me; is truly a small one. On one page the height is in cm and weight is in lbs and the next page the height is cm and weight is in kg. It would be nice to use a consistent form of measurement for carryover throughout the book. My daughters love this book and I do too. Easy to read; information; engaging; beautiful; and well organized. I would highly recommend this book. I have a 3 year old and 5 year old. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. As always I love being given the opportunity to review one of Baby ...By AmandaI was given the opportunity to review the book; Penguins - Meet Mr. Flappy Feet: Penguin Books for Kids (Childrens Bird Books) Kindle by Baby Professor. As always I love being given the opportunity to review one of Baby Professors Books. They never disappoint. The pictures are always amazing; really poster quality. We personally loved the picture of the two penguins looking as if they are holding flappers. (Hands) We also loved the picture of the Dad Penguin holding on the baby; it was so cute. I read this book with my three kids; ages 5; 10 and 11. I felt that the book was perfect for all of them. While the five year old is unable to read my older two enjoyed reading the book to him. The pictures really helped keep their attention. The book is short enough that they will not get bored; the illustrations are enough to keep them interested and the information is easy enough for all of my kids to understand and retain the information. The one thing I would complain about is the vocabulary used was a little difficult. Had the kids read the book by themselves they would have struggled to understand some of the word. I do wish the vocabulary used was slightly different. The book is short; and the kids loved it; I only wish it was longer. Once the kids got excited about the book; it was over. As such we decided to keep exploring penguins online. This is a great starter book to help teach kids about Penguins. As always I ask my kids what they remembered from the book. They recalled the following information; penguin population; geography; diet; swimming speeds; parenting; and more. I was impressed on how much they remembered. I would highly recommend this book for anyone with kids. Itrsquo;s a good interdiction to penguins. Please note; I was give this book at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Awesome picture ebooks for free (or some for 99 cents...)By ElizabethI really like the ebooks in this "Baby Professor" series. Right now there are about 200 ebooks for either free or for 99 cents. This one currently is free therefore I give it a 5 star review. I would have given it a lower rating if I had paid for the full paperback price. If you look at the "Look Inside" feature on ; you can see the type of vivid pictures and paragraphs associated with each page. This format stays through out this book (and the others in the series as well.) Its full of fun shorts facts about penguins that dont go into much detail.I can pull these books up on my iPad and read them with my kids (or better yet have them read) at certain "down times" (waiting for the other one to finish sports practice; waiting in a doctors office; etc.) I also have a friend with a 3 year old daughter who I entertain sometimes during games and practices. I think she will really enjoy looking through the books and all the pictures.Overall very cool ebook series.*****I received this e-book for free in exchange for my honest review.*****
