It was a nice innocent time many memories came flooding back from ...By Karen E VajdaMom my worked at Geauga Lake for 6 years; first at Balloon Darts then onto Fascination. It was back in the mid 60s into the early 70s. When the Schryers owned it it was such a family-like atomosphere everyone knew me watched out for me! I even remember them having me load the bullets in the cartridges for the rifle range getting paid 50 cents a can! After Funtime took over she went into the Foods part. It was a nice innocent time many memories came flooding back from my childhood from reading this book...GOOD MEMORIES!!! I remember going back a few years after she left still seeing familiar faces...among them Ed who ran the rifle range who was there FOREVER WONDERFUL "UNCLE" Bob a Deputy Sheriff who worked the park! BIG BUSINESS may have taken away GEAUGA LAKE; but NEVER my wonderful happy innocent childhood memories!4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Solid; good book on the History of Geauga LakeBy JOHN J PECKGood coverage and accurate history of Geauga Lake Park through the Funtime years. Some touching on Sea World and the Six Flags era for those wondering. Still brings a tear to my eye that the park is gone; but this is a great way to relive those memories.Im glad I was able to be part of history.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Excellent history of Geauga LakeBy Derek S. WiseExcellent history of Geauga Lake; focusing primarily on the years the park was operated by Fun Time. Post cards and photos with captions capture the heart of the park. This book is a must for any Geauga Lake fan or amusement park and roller coaster enthusiast.
