Uncle Vanya is a play by Russian dramatist Anton Checkov. It is a portrait of class issues portrayed through the experiences of an elderly professor and his much younger wife returning to his provincial estate which supports his lifestyle as well as family and some workers; with intentions to sell the estate to provide more wealth for himself.
