Wonderful pictoral history look at a large ethnic community yet relatively unknowBy Florante IbanezMany of the photos came from my own collections as well as family and friends giving the book a very personal flavor. We tried to invoke for the reader a sense of their own being part of the story and common popular past times (i.e. work; family parties; recreation; organizations; arts; etc.) that cut across ethnic lines. Though limited to a set number of pages and photos with text; the book keeps local history interesting and invites the reader to search for their own personal family and local history. It has been told to the authors that this particular installment to the Images of America series from ARCADIA Publishing was one of the more pleasurable to read. Please look for the other "Filipinos in......" also on from ARCADIA Publishing to gain an overall vantage of Filipinos in America.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
